How to choose the suitable latching relay
With the advancement of technology, the variety of relays in the market is dazzling now. So how to choose the most suitable relay product correctly? The following are the three elements that must be mastered for the selection of relays.
1. Selection of contact load
Contact load refers to the encountering ability of the contact. The contacts of the relay may encounter a certain voltage and current when switching. Therefore, when applying a relay, the voltage applied to the contact and the current through the contact should not exceed the contact load capacity of the relay. For example, the contact load of a relay is 28Vdc - 10A, indicating that the relay contact can only be obligated on a circuit with a DC voltage of 28V, and the contact current is 10A. Exceeding 28V or 10A will affect the normal application of the relay. It even burned the contacts.
2. Selection of relay coil power supply
This refers to whether the relay coil applies direct current (DC) or replacement power (AC). Generally, beginners use electronic circuits in the static production of electronic products, and electronic circuits are often powered by DC power supplies, so they must use relays whose coils are DC voltages.
3. Selection of the rated voltage of the relay
The rated rated voltage of the relay is the most important technical parameter of the relay. When applying relays, the compulsory voltage of the circuit (ie, the circuit where the relay coil is located) should be considered first. The rated compulsory voltage of the relay should be equal to the compulsory voltage of the circuit. The duty voltage of the general circuit is 0.86 of the rated duty voltage of the relay. Note that the work piece voltage of the circuit must not exceed the rated voltage of the relay, otherwise the relay coil will be burned casually.
4. Selection of contact form
The contact types of the relay include single-group contacts, double-group contacts, multi-group contacts, normally open contacts, normally closed contacts, etc. When selecting, they should be selected according to the needs of the load circuit. Blindly pursue the selection of multiple sets of contact type relays.
There are three basic forms of relay contacts:
1. The two contacts are disconnected when the dynamic closing type (A type) coil is not energized. After energization, the two contacts are closed.
2. The two contacts are closed when the dynamic break type (B type) coil is not energized, and the two contacts are disconnected after energization.
