Popularization of Relay Terminals
This article is about the external terminal of relay breaker, on electrotechnics, terminal more refers to the wiring terminal, which also called terminal, terminal and style are with various types. For example: single and double holes, pin, hook, etc. If we sort them on material, it can be copper, silver plated copper, zinc plating copper, aluminum, iron, etc., but when it comes to the role of the terminal,we have to mention the connection in the circuit. On the convenience and safety wiring, different users have different demand on terminal design.
The material performance of terminal itself, it often depends on the characteristics of the physical materials used. Especially in some large current series of terminals, the terminal shell insulation materials (PC/ABS) must have good insulation and other electrical performance and mechanical performance.Such as screw is made of high strength copper alloy, wire frame with stress crack corrosion resistance of alloy copper, the metal tin plating or nickel plating surface to protect it.
The pressing mechanism of the large current terminal is the mechanism that produces pressure between the wire and the conductive strip. Only by generating enough pressure can the low contact resistance be ensured and a good connection be formed. Therefore, the reliability of the pressing mechanism directly affects the quality of the wire connection.
Here is a brief introduction based on the types of relay terminals:
The first one is relay terminals, terminal row have holes on both ends can be inserted into conductor, a screw is used to tighten or loosen, such as two wire, sometimes need to get through, sometimes need to disconnect and connect them can use the terminal at this moment, and you can disconnect at any time, without having to weld them up or intertwined, very convenient. In addition, the external plastic insulated enclosure also ensures the safety of the relay during use.
The second kind of relay terminal is also called the load terminal because it is directly connected to the core relay. It has a variety of structures and can be realized by welding or riveting two metal conductive parts. In most cases, customers need to provide the corresponding detailed drawings. It should be noted that the cross-sectional area or wire diameter of the general copper parts or wires directly affects the load current of the relay. If the wire diameter is not enough and the current is too large, it will lead to long-term heating of the wires and reduce the service life.At the same time, the terminal’s terminal aperture should also be marked clearly, coz it may lead to the loose connection of the wires the resulting in poor contact due to too large; If the aperture is too small, then the connection may fail.
I believe that through our detailed introduction to the relay terminal and the popularization of knowledge, your understanding of the terminal also moves to a higher level. Plz subscribe our channel and keep learning more electrical knowledge ~
