Charging of electric vehicles at a standard wall socket or a wall box requires protection devices against DC fault currents to avoid electric shock. Installed type A residual current circuit-breakers (RCCBs) are unable to identify and deactivate DC fault currents. IVY differential current sensors offer the opportunity to save the cost and space for a costly type B RCD in IC-CPD or wall boxes. MD0630T41A residual current monitor is a differential current (DI) sensor specifically developed for EV-charging, providing all-current sensitivity. Type B RCD/Type A + 6ma dc residual current module combination for EV charger pile protection, all-in-one highly integrated digital output.
MD0630T41A leakage current sensor(RCD/RCM) has the characteristics of high sensitivity, correct measurement, small size and compact/integration design. The leakage current detector can be set separately for AC and DC leakage. When the set current is reached, an alarm signal is generated, and the switch control signal is output at the same time. The RCD sensor is connected in series with the AC supply to an EV and will provide a signal output if a DC current ≥ 6mA DC flows in the circuit. It will protect against DC (6mA) and AC (30mA) residual currents, and will signal to the Smart EVSE if a fault occurs. MD series residual current monitor is an ideal protection device, for the detection of different leakage currents/residual currents/fault currents in applications of DC screen, Fire distribution cabinet, PV inverters, medical equipment, UPS devices, EV charging facilities etc.
